Transitional Styling Tips

Transitional Styling Tips

Has anyone else been noticing the evenings getting lighter?

Hallelujah!!

Leaving work at 5pm and it still being daylight makes such a difference.

Dare I even say the weather is ever so slightly milder too? February snow in Scotland in not uncommon but this year it feels like Spring is on it’s way.

We planted a variety of bulbs in our window display and in baskets outside our store at the beginning of this month. The hyacinths are already starting to bloom and they’re gorgeous!

We’re starting to feel the Spring vibes.

On that note comes the task of transitional styling. It’s by no means warm outside but I am needing one less layer everyday now.

My light-weight jackets are being pulled back out of the wardrobe and I can layer them up if needs be. My Monique Blazer is ideal for this!

When navigating this in-between period, it’s most important to rely on a solid foundation of wardrobe essentials – think notable knitwear, timeless trench coat, definitely a boxy blazer – all of which can be worn on their own or layered together.

(Check out our Ada jumpers, Giorgia waterproof trenchs & our Monique Blazers to create this look. Full outfit shown in pic above & pieces linked below). Pssst, you might spy that our new S/S Cotton Ada Jumpers are available for pre-order!!

One of the most important items in a transitional outfit formula is the timeless trench coat. Worn zipped-up and layered over a wool blazer and jumper on chillier days then left open with just a cashmere knit underneath for milder days.

After selling out of our Giorgia trench coats last Spring/Summer we have brought this chic raincoat back again this year in new colours. Choose from Olive Green, Grey Stone, Beige or Red.

The joys of a light wool blazer is that it is transeasonal. Cosy and easy to layer in winter or worn alone with a top in summer.

For casual weekend ease, style your blazer with straight-leg jeans and stylish sneakers. Then, dress the ensemble up entirely with a cute bag, necklace and heels in the evening.

A loose-fitting blazer has gone from being an office staple to off-duty essential. Go monocromatic with our Grey/Black Check or if you’re feeling a touch of colour then our Blue/Red Check is ideal. Regardless of colour, a check or houndstooth pattern is a classic that will never go out of style.

In addition to our 4 check patterns we also have 2 houndstooth patterns in our latest collection, all of which are a breathable wool.

One is a complete one off (pictured above) which is a houndstooth and check pattern, a very special piece. The other is a Grey/Green pattern which we’re a tad in love with!! The sheer versatility of a boxy blazer makes it a wardrobe staple.

With SIX Moniques to choose from - which is your fav?

Yours consciously, mindfully and sustainably,

Beira team.
