The Journey of our Luxury Cotton Socks

Antoinette studied knitwear at Glasgow School of Art, so her first love was knitwear. She was delighted to introduce these fabulous socks to the collection. They are based on a 'mini' kilt sock as an homage to the sourcing of waste Scottish yarns and manufacturing here in Scotland.

Sustainable Circular Sourcing

Antoinette spent a year trying to source made-in-Scotland knitwear. She came across Steve on one of her many internet searches. They spoke at length about how they could support each other. Together, they set out to find waste yarns to make Beira’s first socks. From the end of the spools, they selected yarns and colours to make these exceptional socks.

Ethical Manufacturing

We are delighted to onshore the production of these socks and invest in ‘Made in Scotland’. It is essential to us that we only work with factories, like Caledonia Hosiery, that share our ethos and produce only the highest quality luxury garments while paying people properly. We embrace radical transparency to address fair labour within the industry and ensure all garment workers are paid a living wage.

  • Sustainable

Sustainably sourced from discarded luxury yarn and manufactured in the North of Scotland by an amazing husband and wife team. This product travels less than 160 miles to our store, cutting down on the carbon footprint. The circular and near-sourcing model has provided a 94% reduction in CO2.

  • Ethical

We have sourced ‘waste’ yarns from Scottish mills and are delighted to introduce our unisex socks. We know who makes our clothes. These Scottish artisans are paid more than a living wage. Our commitment to ethical production means you can enjoy a quality product that was created in a sustainable and responsible way.

  • Quality

This luxury yarn crafts a product with exquisite quality that is indulgently soft and stretches with ease. Every sock is examined, finished, paired, and packed by hand. The attention to detail ensures maximum comfort and wearability, and every sock is designed to last. Experience the luxury of wearing quality craftsmanship you can feel.

  • Forever

This blend of fabrics featuring luxurious wool provides warmth and comfort, while its construction ensures it will last and maintain its shape. You'll get maximum wear out of them for years to come, allowing you to elevate your look season after season. Available in limited editions: Charcoal/Navy 18/18, Purple Fleck 8/8.

  • Conscious

Ethically manufactured in Scotland by an amazing family. The amazing artisans who craft these socks are paid a living wage. Each Scottish-made sock is made with love and care, so you can appreciate their quality and craftsmanship knowing the people who made them were paid properly.

  • Transparent

We are delighted to work with another Scottish, family-run manufacturer and share their process with you. By rescuing discarded yarns and replicating our circular model with this factory, we are reducing our carbon footprint by limiting the distance of its journey to our store to less than 160 miles. Traditional retail mark up price £36 versus our honest price £20 based on direct to customer pricing.
