Beira Featured on STV - Female business owners 'not taken seriously by investors'

Beira appeared on STV on the 5th of December! Antoinette discussed the challenges female business owners face in accessing funding and overcoming gender bias.
Women’s Enterprise has launched the first crowdfunding platform, and Beira, alongside ten female-led businesses across Scotland, hope to raise between £2,000 and £25,000.
Antoinette Fionda-Douglas, who owns sustainable fashion brand Beira, said more must be done to help women entrepreneurs thrive.
“What we have found during my time as an entrepreneur is that men have probably more ambitions and are more willing to take risks than women are.
We need more funding. We need investors to look at what they’re doing and investing in. [We need to] make sure we have parity across genders and sectors.
We’re not always going to grow if you’re putting all your money into one type of investment.”
